Recognizing the Power of Prayer

Published: January 5, 2024 Β· Reviewed: February 28, 2026

We are in charge of our own lives and can choose whether or not to involve God.

JOHN 14:13-14 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Christ has given His Body, the church, a portion of His earthly authority. Our decisions as Christians, which we can express in prayer, have an impact on both our lives and the lives of others.

MARK 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

JEREMIAH 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

PSALM 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

SAY THIS: God encourages me to pray and to have faith so that He can accomplish His will in heaven and on earth.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge our free will and choose to involve You in our lives. In Jesus' name, we ask for Your guidance and wisdom. May our decisions glorify You and positively impact those around us. We believe in Your promises, Lord, and trust that You will answer our prayers. In times of trouble, we will call upon You, confident in Your deliverance. Strengthen our faith, Lord, so we may fulfill Your will on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
