JAMES 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
Everybody can teach you something. Everyone has knowledge that you do not.
You cannot learn from others if you are proud. Even though you think you are smart, pride keeps you ignorant.
ROMANS 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
This is not to imply that you should believe everything you are told to be true; rather, it is to say that you should have enough respect for others to listen to what they have to say and think it.
Learn by listening. Talking too much will simply make you look foolish.
PROVERBS 17:27-28 He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit. Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
Proud people believe it is their duty to demonstrate their superior knowledge to anyone who would listen. They speak quickly since they "know" they are in the correct.
PROVERBS 10:19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
Talking is fine as long as it's not excessive. Additionally, try not to be too eager to show off your knowledge to others.
ECCLESIASTES 5:3 For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.
SAY THIS: I will listen quickly, speak slowly, and become angry slowly.
