PSALM 27:10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.
Parents are usually among the people who can be relied upon for assistance, love, and support β no matter what. I seem to remember reading that the mother of a mass killer who had been found guilty still regarded him as her son and continued to love him.
However, parents do abandon their kids on occasion. Nevertheless, God's love for you is greater reliable than a parent's affection for their child.
ISAIAH 49:15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
There is no stronger bond on earth than a mother's for her child. Yet, in rare instances, even that can fall short. However, God's love for you is stronger, more certain, and deeper.
HEBREWS 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
People will let you down. But one can rely on God. He won't let you down. He won't ever stop trying to help you or turn His back against you.
Does this imply that God will always keep you safe from all bad things? No. Not any more than a fine earthly parent is able to shield their child from all bad situations.
We must mature. We must learn to overcome and develop the ability to walk in love and faith.
Have faith in God the Father. He is more trustworthy than close friends or family members, and He will always love you more than anybody else will ever do.
SAY THIS: God will never abandon me. He is always willing to support me.
