JEREMIAH 9:24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.
People's ignorance of God is the one problem facing the world today. Many people who believe they understand God are incorrect.
Every other difficulty stems from this main one. Peoples' ignorance of God is the root cause of all sin. People would adore God, respect Him, aspire to be like Him, and wish to please Him if they truly knew who He is.
1 JOHN 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
People who are unaware of God's attributes and nature believe He is unjust or a demanding boss. The truth is that God is the most kind, generous, and selfless being there is. He works for our good in whatever He does.
EXODUS 34:6 And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,
Although the religious authorities of Jesus' day believed they knew God, when He spoke to them, they referred to Him as the devil.
JOHN 8:19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
Look at Jesus if you want to understand what God is really like. If you look at how Jesus behaved in the four Gospels, you will see how God behaves.
JOHN 12:45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.
You are misled if you believe that God is not like Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus gave us a perfect revelation of the Father God. All of the prior information about God that we had was insufficient.
JOHN 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
I have had the unique fortune of knowing God over a long period of time. God is good, I'm here to tell you that!
He is dependable! You will like Him more as you get to know Him better.
PSALM 34:8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
