There are four ways to get something you don't already have.
You are aware that stealing is not an acceptable method, and we have not yet mastered the art of creating something out of nothing. So, our options are to purchase something or accept it as a gift.
It is a purchase if you spend money, goods, or services in exchange for what you get.
A gift is something that you receive without having to pay for it.
Someone would be mistaken if they said, "I'll give you my new car for just $1." A brand-new car for just one dollar would be a fantastic deal, but it wouldn't be a present; rather, it would be a purchase.
We must fully comprehend this. When the Bible declares that God has given us a gift, it means that we are not required to make any kind of payment for it.
A gift is not to be accepted as a gift if you try to pay for it.
EPHESIANS 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Salvation is a free gift! (Being saved involves more than only getting to Heaven when we pass away; it also entails being delivered and kept safe from any danger.)
Your salvation is a priceless gift from God! You owe nothing since Jesus paid the entire cost for it!
According to the New Testament, being in good standing with God is a gift. When we accept Jesus, we are given this beautiful gift.
JOHN 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
Too many people still do not comprehend the New Covenant's foundation in a whole new way.
In order to earn God's assistance and favor under the Old Covenant (the law of Moses), humans had to accomplish. It was predicated on how well we as humans perform.
However, the New Covenant is founded on Jesus Christ's work and our confidence in Him.
If we have to earn God's favor by being "good enough," then we are attempting to purchase a gift.
But paying for a present is impossible! Gifts become purchases once we begin to pay for them.
And there is nothing for sale from God! God forbids us from purchasing anything as priceless as His love with our good deeds.
GALATIANS 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
We "fall from grace" when we attempt to recoup God's gift. This suggests that we are attempting a subpar strategy that will fail.
It indicates that rather than accepting God's love and acceptance as a gift from Him, we are still working to earn it.
SAY THIS:
There is no way I will ever be able to buy, purchase for, or earn God's favor. I must receive it as a gift by accepting Jesus Christ.
