2 CORINTHIANS 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
God is love. Love provides for and assists others. God desires for you to have His giving nature.
Knowing the nature of people, God provided rewards to motivate us to give. Giving not only makes us feel good, but God assures us that anything we give will be doubled back to us, just as a farmer's seed creates a larger crop.
LUKE 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
God's goal for you is to become a loving, selfless person who believes in God.
Giving is an expression of both trust and love, which are the two main virtues God is trying to instill in us.
Giving takes faith. Holding onto all we have seems safer and wiser, in case we ever need it. However, God exhorts us to show generosity and give to others while relying on Him to increase our own giving to us.
As someone once stated, anything we offer simply enters our future, where it will be multiplied, and does not leave our lives.
SAY THIS: Every time I donate, I am sowing the seeds for a bountiful harvest of blessings.
