Quickly making a decision based on appearance frequently succeeds, but not always. And exceptions can actually cost you.
The world instills in us the notion that appearances can be deceiving. But neither God nor we should judge people based solely on their appearance.
1 SAMUEL 16:7 But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.
We lack the necessary knowledge to assess people because we are unaware of their motivations. God is the only one who can.
You shouldn't always judge a book by its cover, as they say.
LUKE 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
No matter how someone looks, we should always treat them with respect since God created and adores them.
SAY THIS: Lord, help me to avoid judging others based just on looks.
