God does not desire for us to be afraid. The Bible often encourages us not to be afraid.
But how can we avoid feeling terrified seeing all the horrific things going on in the world? How can we resist the urge to fear?
We must be aware of the fact that God loves us and has wonderful plans for us, including a place for us to live in Heaven and a place to go to be with Jesus once we pass away. So, since death is a profession and a gain for a Christian believer, we shouldn't be afraid of it (Philippians 1:21).
Additionally, we must be aware of and keep in mind God's promises made in the Bible regarding protection from evil, misfortune, and injury in this life. For instance:
PSALM 91:9-11 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
This is not to imply that those who suffer sad losses are sinners or unloved by God. Only that God promises to protect us if we follow Him and listen to what He says.
LUKE 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
We are aware of the untimely deaths of many decent people. However, God's promises are true and should not be questioned.
We are unaware of their knowledge and beliefs. But we are aware that God is dependable and honors His commitments.
When you live in close proximity to God and walk in faith, there is a place of security. So, don't be scared!
SAY THIS: God places His angels in charge of me, ensuring my safety at all times.
