PHILIPPIANS 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
Heaven exists in reality. Heaven is, in truth, the source of all reality. There are actual individuals there taking part in actual events. The presence of our lovable Lord Jesus Christ and our heavenly Father there is, however, very significant.
Some people refer to those who have passed away in this world as "having gone to their reward."
Heaven is not a compensation.
God will bestow prizes, but entering Heaven is not one of them. Going back to normal is what heaven is.
That's true. The way life was meant to be is in heaven. Heaven means normal. On this sin-filled earth, what we have been going through is abnormal.
But the fact that Jesus won't abandon this world or us in our subnormality for all time is part of the Good News. When Jesus returns from Heaven, which may be soon, things on Earth will be restored to how God intended them to be when He made this world.
Everything on Earth was a reflection of Heaven when it was first built. All the goodness and beauty we experience on Earth pales in comparison to what Heaven provides.
What makes Heaven our place to live? Your family is your home. Your place of comfort is your home. Your place of residence is where you call home. Where you belong is at home. Heaven meets all of the criteria for a follower of Jesus Christ.
SAY THIS: My home is in heaven.
