Gratitude For What You Already Have

Published: February 9, 2024 · Reviewed: March 21, 2024

Usually, people become less grateful as their possessions increase.

So, how do you overcome ungratefulness? Only through changing your beliefs.

You will never learn to be grateful as long as you think you're getting a raw deal or less than you deserve.

The outcome of our focus is an attitude of thankfulness.

Bear in mind that you merited punishment.

As a substitute, God gave you what He was due, and everything you have—even your breath—is a gift.

Keep this in mind, and you'll learn to be grateful.

And a cheerful person is one who is grateful.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

What is better than that?

Almighty God assures you that He will look after you always!

You won't ever have to face life on your alone!

Being wealthy is not necessary for living a meaningful, joyful, and fulfilled life. Jesus informed us because He is the One who knows.

Luke 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

SAY THIS: I will be appreciative.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Help us to remember that all we have is a gift from You. Teach us to be grateful, even when we feel we deserve more. Remind us that our worth is not in our possessions, but in Your love. Let our hearts be free from covetousness, and filled with contentment. Thank You for Your promise to never leave us. Guide us to live meaningful lives, not defined by wealth, but by Your grace. May we always be appreciative of Your blessings. In Jesus' name, Amen.
