MARK 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Every follower of Jesus has access to a miraculous kind of prayer.
Because the original English word for languages was "tongues," it is commonly referred to as "speaking in tongues." It is just a Christian believer speaking regularly, in control, but in a proficient language they are not familiar with.
You might be perplexed as to how that is feasible. It would not be possible without God!
This is how it operates. Your spirit—the authentic, inward self—will be given words by the Holy Spirit residing within you, and your spirit will speak those words absolutely independently of your mind.
1 CORINTHIANS 14:14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
Your mind won't come up with the words or choose what to say. However, just like when speaking in your own tongue, you will always be in complete control. Start and stop whenever you like. The Holy Spirit won't ever press you to speak.
1 CORINTHIANS 14:15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
Keep in mind that praying in the spirit, which is certainly praying in tongues given the context, is subject to your will just like praying in your native tongue while using your understanding.
You do not hear the Holy Spirit speaking in tongues for you. You'll need to say the words that the Holy Spirit imparts to your spirit. When you talk in tongues, the Holy Spirit within you gives you the words to say in a language you have never mastered.
The words come out of your mouth straight from your spirit rather than through your head.
There is no doubt that this type of prayer will be heard because your mind is not guiding it; also, it will be perfect and devoid of any doubt, unbelief, or fear.
We are able to pray for things we would not otherwise be aware of or know how to pray for thanks to this beautiful gift. Our knowledge and comprehension are limited, but the Holy Spirit is all-knowing, including the future, and He will lead us in prayer in accordance with His knowledge. Each of us can pray perfectly in this way.
Anyone who trusts in Jesus Christ has free access to this gift. It is not something you need to acquire or earn. But it must be deliberately accepted by faith, just like every gift from God. God never pushes His gifts upon anybody, after all.
Ask the Lord if you want to know the truth about something and have any queries. Asking someone who doesn't use it or truly understands it to explain it is not a good idea. Don't allow anyone to dissuade you from accepting this wonderful, miracle gift from your devoted Father God using human reasoning.
It seems sense that the devil would oppose any Christian using languages because it allows for perfect prayer. Every flawless prayer is always granted, and each time it is, the devil's plan is foiled.
Therefore, we must follow in the footsteps of Paul, who had more tongues to speak than any other Christian in Corinth.
1 CORINTHIANS 14:18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
You can never pray "too much" in your spiritual language, just as you can never pray "too much" in your home tongue. Because that's exactly what it is—a language that the Spirit has chosen.
Speaking in tongues may appear challenging at first, and you might not be particularly proficient. Not to worry! You didn't learn to speak your mother tongue well either.
As you go along, you'll find it easier and more comfortable to do. You will gain confidence if you simply speak out in faith.
Similar to learning anything new, it may feel awkward at first, but once you get going, it comes naturally and easily.
More than 5,000 different languages are spoken worldwide, according to experts. Nobody is aware of them all.
Therefore, if your supernatural praying does not always seem like a great language to you, don't hold back and hesitate. After all, you most likely lack language expertise.
It doesn't really matter how it sounds to you because you are speaking to God, not yourself.
Simply speak up loudly and with faith whenever the spirit inspires you, and as you do so, it will become abundantly evident to you that you are unable to accomplish this on your own.
It's supernatural! It is true!
It is a gift that you have already received. You simply need to accept it.
Wherever you are, you can do that right now.
SAY THIS: Because I am a Christian, I am able to pray in tongues I have never learned. Since Jesus said I could, I will.
