Respect Others More

PHILIPPIANS 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

You are in peril when you begin to believe that you are superior to others. It results in activities that are opposed to God's love.

Be cautious! We must heed the warnings contained in the Bible.

Of course, how we treat other people is just as essential as what we think of them. Thoughts, however, always come before and guide acts. Thus, we need to watch our thoughts.

PHILIPPIANS 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Yes, each of us is superior to another person or persons in some way. But not one of us is greater in every way to everyone else.

Even more crucial is the idea that we should measure a person's value in relation to God rather than their appearance, talents, or accomplishments.

You assume yourself as a judge with greater authority than God when you deem someone not to be valuable or yourself to be more valued than they are.

JAMES 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

God opposes the arrogant!

Anyone who would desire God to oppose or resist them is a fool. Therefore, only a fool or someone who lacks knowledge would wish to feel proud, which means believing oneself to be superior to others.

1 PETER 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

What possessions do you own that weren't gifts? Did you make it on your own? What do you actually have to brag about then?

1 CORINTHIANS 4:7 For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?

Be thankful for everything God has gifted you rather than being arrogant. And remember that because God has blessed you, you can also bless others because God values them just as much as you do.

1 PETER 2:17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

SAY THIS: I'm not going to fall into the trick that I'm better than other people.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, guide us to live by Philippians 2:3, to act not in strife or vainglory, but in humility, esteeming others better than ourselves. Help us to guard our thoughts, to not see ourselves as superior, but to value each person in relation to You. Grant us the grace to be humble, remembering that all we have is a gift from You. Teach us to honor all men, to love our brothers and sisters, and to fear You. Remind us, Lord, that we are not better than others. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
