What Is God's Love for You Like?

Published: February 16, 2024 · Reviewed: February 28, 2026

The only one who has the solution is God. Fortunately, the Bible is a book that we may read to learn what God believes.

(What a lovely idea that is! We can read to find out what God believes! Don't make youself be overly busy and deprived such wonderful opportunity.)

PSALM 103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.

Knowing what it is like to be a parent can help us to start to understand God's love for us. According to Psalm 103:13, God feels the same kind of intense affection for us that a parent does for their kid.

There is much more to the word in this passage than just "compassion." It is a really intense emotion that is difficult to put into words. God feels this way about you!

(You might question why. I may be curious at the reasons behind God's feelings toward you or me. All I can say is that parents may believe their own children to be exceptionally unique even when others may perceive them as rather ordinary!)

By what He was prepared to endure to save us and accept us into His family, we can also determine how much God loves us. A lot!

John 3:16 is well-known to us, but familiarity frequently prevents us from understanding anything totally and clearly. Consider this: God resolved to accept the punishment that justice required so that the filthy, corrupt, rebellious world of people—even those who despised Him—could be set free.

No matter who you are or what you have done, God still loves you. More than you could ever hope to know or comprehend, he loves you.

God loves Himself less than He loves you. That is demonstrated by the fact that He chose to suffer so that you could be set free, putting your needs and feelings ahead of His own.

How could anyone not adore and admire such a lovely Being as our great God?

SAY THIS: I am loved by God. God cherishes me. God cherishes me.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, We thank You for Your unfathomable love, a love so profound that it surpasses our understanding. We are humbled by Your compassion, mirrored in the affection of a parent for their child. We are in awe of Your sacrifice, enduring pain to set us free. Help us to grasp the depth of Your love, to truly believe that we are cherished by You. May we never take for granted the wonderful opportunity to learn about You through Your Word. Teach us to love and admire You more each day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
