Consider Jesus to be your righteousness.

ROMANS 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

Humans seem to have a natural desire to try to convince God that we are deserving of His acceptance and favor.

The foundation of all human religions is what we must do in order to please God. True Christianity, however, is wholly predicated on what God accomplished for us in Christ Jesus. It is called the Gospel for this reason which means Good News.

PHILIPPIANS 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Because God's method for reconciling us to himself hinges on faith.

Jesus Christ's work serves as the foundation for God's plan for mankind to be right with Him. No human being will ever be able to earn or deserve it. It is solely God's gift to us.

GALATIANS 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

By attempting to be a good person and leading a perfect life, you cannot be in good standing with God. Being a follower of Christ Jesus is the only way to be in good standing with God.

ROMANS 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Therefore, resist the want to uphold your own righteousness. Accept Christ as your source of righteousness!

GALATIANS 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

God established Jesus as your righteousness. Accept that as true.

1 CORINTHIANS 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

Saying that Jesus is not sufficient now would be equivalent to saying that your righteousness is not sufficient. Jesus is your righteousness, after all!

Being righteous is a gift! But you must actively accept it in order to gain the benefits you deserve. Take it, you have to!

SAY THIS: I accept the righteousness of Jesus as my own. I am currently in good standing with God as a result of Jesus. In Christ, I am righteous

Prayer

Heavenly Father, We acknowledge our ignorance of Your righteousness and our futile attempts to establish our own. We submit ourselves to Your righteousness, recognizing that it is not by our works, but by faith in Christ Jesus that we are justified. We resist the urge to uphold our own righteousness and accept Christ as our source of righteousness. We affirm that Jesus is our wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. We gratefully accept this gift of righteousness, knowing that in Christ, we are righteous. Amen.
