All Good Gifts Come From Above

Published: March 6, 2024 Β· Reviewed: June 8, 2024

JAMES 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

God does not do evil in order for good to result.

In verse 16 above, the Bible warns us, "Do not be fooled." It follows that brothers CAN be fooled, and many DO.

The cause of the negative events is NOT God. Earthquakes and deadly events like tornadoes are not actions of my God. Only good emanates from my Father God, who never changes or varies during the day.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

The Bible's dividing line is found in John 10:10. It is made obvious that the devil's goal is to damage you. Life in all of its completeness β€” life as God intended β€” is the Lord's ultimate goal.

Jesus stands by you. The devil is working against you.

SAY THIS:

Because the devil is working against me, I oppose the devil. God is for me, thus I obey him.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge Your goodness and Your unchanging nature. We understand that You do not tempt us with evil, nor are You the cause of our suffering. We rebuke the devil, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. We stand firm in Your promise of abundant life. We pray for discernment to not be fooled, and strength to oppose the devil. We choose to obey You, for You are for us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
