MATTHEW 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Because religion is more of an emotion or state of being, I used to think it was difficult to know for sure. But I now see that once we decide to believe, we are in that belief regardless of how we may sense it, unless we decide to change our minds and decide to stop believing.
Because faith is fundamentally always a choice. Nobody can compel you to hold a particular belief.
(Keep in mind, for the same word, "faith" is noun form and "believe" is verb form in the New Testament.)
A decision that is founded on facts and leads to action is what is meant by the concept of faith.
Faith in God is a decision to accept what God says is true. It is embracing God's Word as reliable proof upon which to act.
LUKE 17:6[v/e] And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
Jesus taught that if you had faith, you would say; thus, faith speaks. Faith doesn't keep quiet. By our words and behavior, we demonstrate what we believe.
There is no mystery to faith. You'll never have to question your faith. Your actions and words reveal your beliefs.
SPEAK THIS: My words and actions can tell me when I am in the faith.
