The Seed Is God's Word

Published: March 12, 2024 Β· Reviewed: March 28, 2024

Although Jesus reminded us that God's Word is like a seed, most people assume that it operates like a stick of dynamite.

LUKE 8:1 And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,

The Holy Spirit also referred to God's Word as a seed through Peter.

1 PETER 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

The Bible is alive. The Bible is brimming with invisible life, just like a seed.

JOHN 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Jesus claimed that His words have life. They offer life because they contain life.

Your Bible's words could appear lifeless and ineffective. Seeds also do. However, they still have life and strength.

Jesus explains how the kingdom of God functions like a seed in Mark 4:30–31. Therefore, understanding seeds is necessary if we are to comprehend God's kingdom and how He functions.

SAY THIS:

The Word of God is a good seed. It will be planted in my life, and it will bear fruit in abundance.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word, the seed of life. We pray for understanding and wisdom to comprehend its depth. May it be planted in our hearts, grow, and bear abundant fruit. Help us to remember that Your Word is not a force of destruction, but a source of life. May we be born again of this incorruptible seed, living and abiding in Your Word forever. We declare that Your Word is alive in us, nourishing our spirits and giving us life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
