Manage Your Words

Published: March 20, 2024 · Reviewed: April 20, 2024

1 PETER 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Talking what the Bible teaches is equivalent to speaking the words of God.

A Christian should never say anything that goes against what the Bible teaches.

EPHESIANS 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

JAMES 4:11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren.

He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

TITUS 3:2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

You are accountable for the words you use.

If you have nothing positive to say, the Bible is clear: be quiet.

SAY THIS: Lord, assist me to stay quiet unless I have anything to say that you would find acceptable.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, guide my words to reflect Your divine wisdom. Let my speech edify and minister grace to others, as You command. Help me to refrain from speaking ill of others, to be gentle and meek. Lord, make me accountable for my words, and if I have nothing positive to say, grant me the strength to remain silent. May all I say and do glorify You through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominity forever and ever. Amen.
