Does Jesus Concern?

Published: March 21, 2024 · Reviewed: April 23, 2024

MARK 4:37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

When we are in trouble, we have all questioned whether God cares about us. If God really does love us as the Bible claims, it is simple to question why things are so difficult.

Why don't things work out better for us, particularly when we put our trust in God?

We get a sight of God's perspective in Mark 4 of this.

Even though Jesus was in their boat, the disciples cried out to Him when they believed they were going to perish in the storm. Jesus did really save them from harm.

However, because they were terrified and failed to control the situation, Jesus queried His disciples.

Why didn't the Lord interven the risky situation earlier? It is easy to anwer. Jesus was hoping that His followers would practise the authority to overcome the storm.

God believes in His children. He wants us to mature, learn to assume responsibility, and use the authority He has empowered us.

LUKE 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

God taught us to resist devil and all of his schemes, including anything that would rob, kill, or destroy. Why should God use His power to interven when He has already taught us to do so?

JAMES 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Yes, Jesus loved you so much that He died for you. Don't doubt His love based on your situation.

Jesus has not abandoned you if it looks like He is not calming the storms in your life. He simply expects that you will succeed with your faith and the authority He has empowered you.

SAY THIS: Jesus is concerned on me, and I will be rescued from all the turbulences of life

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, We thank You for Your love and protection. We acknowledge that storms may come, but we trust in Your promise to be with us. Help us to remember that You have given us authority to overcome these trials. Strengthen our faith, Lord, and guide us to use the power You have bestowed upon us. We submit ourselves to You, resisting the devil and his schemes. We believe in Your love, Jesus, and we know You have not abandoned us. We declare that with You, we will be rescued from all life's turbulences. In Jesus' name, Amen.
