What Can I Do To Make God Do What I Want?

Published: March 28, 2024 · Reviewed: February 28, 2026

Sorry that you have it backwards. God is attempting to persuade you to follow His will since His path is ideal and yours is clearly flawed.

PSALM 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

You don't have to convince God to take any action. God has the answers. It's you who is clueless on what to act.

Thinking of a two-year-old advising his parents what they ought to do. Even more absurd is the idea that we should direct God's actions because we believe we know what is ideal for us.

This behavior shows a lack of maturity.

We should be in charge of the world instead of God if we were so brilliant at understanding things. But take a look at what our choices have created — a disaster. We don't simply need God to help us; we also need fresh leadership.

Would our lives be fixed even if we managed to convince God to act on what we believe He ought to do for us?

For instance, a lot of individuals believe that having a lot of money will fix all of their problems, but the reality is quite different.

You must make Jesus the Lord of your life. You must become aware of Him and heed His commands.

God has already fulfilled His obligation. Now we need to have the ability to accept His supply and walk in victory.

Why should God provide you with a new car and petrol money if you are driving towards damage? What is required is a new driver. Allow Jesus to drive.

Jesus doesn't need your advice or your arguments. Just have faith in Him.

God knows you and loves you more than you can possibly imagine to yourself. He wants what's best for you. Someone like that is trustworthy.

CLAIM THIS: I rely on You, Lord Jesus. Please take charge of my life.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I acknowledge Your perfect ways and Your infinite wisdom. I confess that my understanding is limited and flawed. I surrender my will to You, trusting in Your divine guidance. Lord Jesus, I invite You to take the wheel of my life. I relinquish my need to control and direct, acknowledging that You know what is best for me. Help me to trust in Your love and provision, and to walk in the victory You have already secured for me. I rely on You, Lord Jesus. Please take charge of my life. Amen.
