About Food And Raiment

Published: March 28, 2024 · Reviewed: May 15, 2024

1 TIMOTHY 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

The word "content" that is being used here does not mean to accept and be satisfied with a lack of anything, nor does it mean to give up trying to make things better. It implies to be powerful and wealthy enough to assist others."

We shouldn't consider ourselves to be poor if all we have is food and clothing because God is our Father and our source of sustenance. He has promised to look after us.

We have enough resources as a result to look forth and assist others.

If all we have is food and clothing, we should be grateful. But we must not be complacent and accept lack as God's ideal.

we must have more than we need in order to fully aid others as we ought to. Therefore, accepting poverty is a selfish act rather than a loving one.

To be obsessed with money is wrong. But having money is not wrong.

More people can be helped the more money we have.

SAY THIS: I always have enough to help others because of my connection with Christ.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, We thank you for your provision, for food and raiment, and for the contentment they bring. Help us to understand that contentment is not complacency, but a call to be a blessing to others. May we never accept lack as your ideal, but strive to have more than we need, so we can fully aid others. Keep us from the obsession of money, yet bless us with enough to help more people. Remind us always, Lord, that our wealth and power to assist others come from our connection with Christ. In Jesus' name, Amen.
