LUKE 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God
MARK 4:26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
Jesus used a seed to illustrate how God's Word and His kingdom function.
And it often takes a seed a long time to develop into a harvest.
It is also evident that God has the power to accelerate organic processes.
Here are three biblical examples: Aaron's rod that sprouted nuts overnight, a plant that sprouted overnight and sheltered Jonah, and the boat reaching the coast as soon as Jesus boarded.
NUMBERS 17:7 And Moses laid up the rods before the Lord in the tabernacle of witness.
According to the book of Jonah, a plant grew to be big enough over night to protect Jonah from the sun.
JONAH 4:5-11 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.
There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
The disciples of Jesus were once boating during a storm in the middle of a lake.
When Jesus got into the boat, they reached land, which was about four miles away, right away (a little over 6 kilometers).
JOHN 6:19 So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.
God is a kind and merciful God.
Therefore, while grasping the seed idea is crucial, it need not severely constrain us when God is at play.
For instance, God established healing as a natural process so that the human body would heal.
However, we might pray for God's strength to accelerate the process so that healing happens more quickly than usual.
SAY THIS: God can speed the blessings He will bring into my life.
