Isn't it great to know that you can endure anything the devil casts at you? Your belief in God's Word will protect you from harm despite any attacks from the devil.

This passage is addressed to Christians. It does not tell whether you fight the devil or not, he will escape from you. Therefore, if you don't like the devil's plan for your existence, you should actively resist him.
For the most part, neither God nor the adversary physically visit us. Instead, they reach us through thoughts that either derive from God or the devil. By how we react to the thoughts and ideas that are presented to us, we decide which one we submit to and which one we refuse.
Defend yourself against the demon! Never give in or give up! If you keep up your resistance, the devil cannot win.
