Jesus Had A Nap

Published: April 10, 2024 Β· Reviewed: June 23, 2024

LUKE 8:23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

There are a lot of motivated people who act and feel as though they are in charge of the entire world.

However, Jesus was able to rest. He might have had a significant task to accomplish. He yet lived a balanced life. He was aware of when it was appropriate to rest.

Jesus prayed all night long as well. So, His example does not promote indolence or passivity. Just maintain balance, and don't stress, believe in God.

Some people might believe that "taking a nap" is sinful because we ought to be working always. But, since Jesus never committed a sin, we may confidently imitate Him and maintain balance in our lives.

SAY THIS: I'll rest and believe in God.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, We thank You for the example of Jesus, who showed us the importance of balance in life. Help us to remember that rest is not a sin, but a necessity for our well-being. Grant us the wisdom to know when to work and when to rest, and the faith to trust in Your timing. May we follow in Jesus' footsteps, praying diligently, working earnestly, and resting peacefully. We declare our trust in You, knowing that You are in control of all things. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
