JAMES 3:1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
Each player's achievement at striking the ball is recorded by a mechanism in baseball. We would say they are hitting 1000 if they consistently get hits while never losing one.
However, nobody in baseball has ever accomplished that. Furthermore, no Christian has ever been flawless without ever committing a mistake.
Paul and Peter, two of the prophets, both failed it. Whether they acknowledge it or not, your beloved preacher has made mistakes as well.
Nobody here is flawless. We wouldn't need a Redeemer if we were.
Why do we overlook it?
Because our enemy is continuously attempting to trick and mislead us. We have to grow up, just as human babies do naturally, because we do not begin with as mature Christians.
1 CORINTHIANS 13:9 For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.
Thus, you ought to carry out these three actions.
Keep nourishing your confidence with God's Word.
When someone else misses it, show them mercy.
If you don't get it, don't give up. Do not punish yourself overly. Accept God's forgiveness, give your own forgiveness, and move on.
1 JOHN 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
PHILIPPIANS 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
SAY THIS: God cares me, even when I am yet to learn and grow.
