JAMES 4:1-2 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
Every issue we encounter comes from selfishness. All of humanity's issues would be resolved if greed were eliminated.
JAMES 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
We must clearly understand the effects of greed before we can decide that we will not participate in such a repulsive activity.
JAMES 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
Selfishness has the ability to change heaven into hell, if God were to let it do.
Divine compassion is the antithesis of selfishness. This is the kind of affection the Greek New Testament refers to as "agape". It is a mindset, not an emotion, that leads to putting the needs of others and their concerns ahead of your own.
1 CORINTHIANS 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
God has this kind of love for us!
Selfishness is a disease that cannot be healed by an individual choosing to try and behave differently. No, it is human nature to be self-centered and prioritize our own needs.
Instead of just applying a bandage to hide the issue, we require a new kind of nature—a true remedy. Jesus stated that we must be reborn because of this.
If we make the choice to do so, we will then be able to walk in divine love and place the needs of others prior to our own. Heaven exists when everybody acts in that way.
Embracing Jesus Christ is the only way to recover from this deadly disease of selfishness. Jesus gives you a new nature when you embrace Him, granting you access to His life. You will then be able to walk in divine love and get rid of selfishness as you enable that new nature within you to guide your behavior.
SAY THIS: I don't like to be selfish! Father Jesus, thank you for saving me
