Jesus Is The Deliverer

Published: April 19, 2024 Β· Reviewed: July 19, 2024

MATTHEW 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Jesus literally means "the Lord saves" or "the Lord is a Savior".

The angel revealed to Joseph the name he should give to the boy Mary would have, as well as the significance of that name. Jesus: He will deliver. "Savior β€” because He will save," we could say.

But the word "Savior" has lost its meaning for us because we are so familiar with hearing it in reference to Jesus. It no longer has the desired effect on our thoughts. Therefore, we need to hear the term "Deliverer" again.

Savior is a synonym for deliverer. To deliver something is to save it. Delivering anything implies releasing it from whatever restrained it and prevented its completion.

All you need to do is give Jesus control over your life. Bring Him inside. He will bring about rescue.

SAY THIS: Jesus is my savior! He frees me from anything that would constrain me and prevent me from becoming completion.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for sending your son, Jesus, our Deliverer. We acknowledge Him as our Savior, the one who releases us from the constraints of sin. We invite Jesus into our lives, surrendering control to Him. We proclaim, "Jesus is our Savior!" He frees us from anything that would hinder our spiritual growth. Help us to never lose sight of the true meaning of our Savior. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
