DEUTERONOMY 15:4 Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the Lord shall greatly bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it:
No one should be poor among us, according to the Word of God, but wait, preacher, that was addressed to the Jews under the Old Covenant.
Yes! We also have a superior covenant!
HEBREWS 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
The claim that "Our covenant is only superior because of spiritual blessings, not financial blessings, which were only for the Old Testament saints," is made by some people who seem resolved to refuse the Good News from God.
Seriously? Where in the Bible does it indicate that? I've never observed it.
No! The Bible is written in our language specifically for humans so that we can perceive God's word.
When the Bible tells that our agreement is superior, it must contain all of the blessings of the Old Covenant and new ones. It trully does!
2 CORINTHIANS 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
In Christ, each commitment made in the Old or New Testament is fulfilled.
EPHESIANS 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
God's blessing may live in a spiritual form, but as we accept it by faith, it will tangibly materialize on earth.
The statement "has blessed us with every blessing that Heaven itself enjoys" appears in one translation of this verse.
ROMANS 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
When God gave us Jesus, He gave us His very best.
What is covered by God's best?
Everything!
2 PETER 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Do you understand what it implies to lead a holy life? A godlike living!
Can a human being marked by scarcity and poverty be called godlike?
Do you truly believe that the Creator God is poor and lacking?
The Bible says God has already provided us with all that we need to live a godly life. That can't possibly mean to be hungry or homeless.
So why do so many Christians experience such unsatisfied needs? There may be a variety of reasons, but the main one is not understanding God's will in the situation.
We cannot have confidence if we don't understand God's will.
We won't gain God's blessing if we lack faith.
SAY THIS: It is God's design and provision that none of His offspring live in poverty.
