1 CORINTHIANS 3:9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
We are merely God's employees. You are not our house or garden; you belong to God.
We learned that the Word of God is a germ. (Luke 8:11). As you can see, the Bible claims that as Christians, we are God's garden, the location where seed is sown.
You should think about who decides on the crop. God, or yourself?
(The harvest I refer to is the product, or outcome, of God's Word. The blessings God's Word brings into your life as a crop.)
I propose that the person who chooses the seed to sow has the most power over the harvest. Do you think so?
It is unrealistic to anticipate a maize harvest if wheat seed is sown. It is unrealistic to anticipate a substantial crop when only a handful of seeds are sown. Don't you think so?
You are God's garden, yes, but He gives you a lot of latitude to decide what will grow there. And the primary method you make a decision is by deciding which seed you want to sow in your heart and mind.
Other options are available to you besides God's Word. Furthermore, you can select various portions of the Bible. You will get varying effects on your life by planting various scriptures.
You cannot anticipate a bountiful harvest of healing or capital blessing in your life if all you ever plant are scriptures on the new birth. The decision is yours.
SAY THIS: I am God's field. Lord, give me the wisdom to sow the seed of your Word in me abundantly.
