Jesus Is Our Protector

1 JOHN 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

In this verse, the Greek term parakletos is used to translate into Advocate. It refers to a person who is summoned to one's help; a person who advocates for another one before a judge; a defense attorney, a legal assistant, an advocate, and a helper.

Many individuals have never truly understood Jesus Christ's support for us. He makes our argument simply like a defense attorney would.

REVELATION 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

Jesus is not the one seeking to convict us. He is still our Saviour.

ROMANS 8:33-34 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Jesus not only atoned for all of our sins by spilling His own blood, but He also serves as our lawyer, arguing our cause, allowing us to take use of all the benefits He bought for us despite our shortcomings.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Jesus stood in our place, taking the punishment we deserve and giving it to him as a gift, allowing us to benefit from his reward. This is Great News!

SAY THIS: Jesus Christ is my defense lawyer

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your love and mercy. We are grateful for Jesus Christ, our Advocate, who stands in our defense. We acknowledge our sins and shortcomings, yet we rejoice in the knowledge that Christ intercedes for us. We are humbled by His sacrifice, taking our punishment upon Himself, that we might be made righteous in Your sight. We declare with joy and gratitude: Jesus Christ is our defense lawyer! May we live in the light of this truth, and strive to sin no more. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
