Grow Your Faith

Published: April 26, 2024 Β· Reviewed: May 11, 2024

MARK 11:23-24 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Along with bodily growth, there comes spiritual growth. We do not start out mature and strong. All of creation, including the Bible, teaches steady growth.

MARK 4:28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

The Bible has many wonderful promises. These are to be accepted by faith. Faith is recognizing that you believe rather than trying to believe. You must therefore start exercising faith at the stage you are.

If you don't have faith in a new car, have faith in a bicycle instead, then put your faith in God for a motorcycle. Your faith will continue increasing if you keep using it and feeding on God's Word.

You will finally reach a point where you can trust God just as readily for significant matters as you did for minor ones.

In order for your belief to strengthen, you must both practice it and feed it with God's Word.

MATTHEW 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

But don't anticipate relying solely on another person's faith to get you through life. God will eventually ask you to mature and rely on your own faith. Thus it makes sense to start right away.

God is aware of our needs. God does not desire us to be in poverty, according to the Bible. But why doesn't God simply fulfill our wants without our asking?

God wants us to develop our faith, to put it simply. We can only use our faith to strengthen it. Hence, every need presents an opportunity for faith and, consequently, for development.

Don't try to begin praying for a significant request. Begin modestly. As you put your faith to use, it will develop.

SAY THIS: God will guide me to develop to walk in faith.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, We come before You, acknowledging Your power and majesty. We thank You for the promise in Mark 11:23-24, that if we believe and do not doubt, we shall receive what we ask for. We pray for spiritual growth, as we understand that faith is a journey, not a destination. As in Mark 4:28, may our faith grow steadily, from the blade to the full corn in the ear. Help us to exercise our faith, starting from where we are, and to feed it with Your Word. May we learn to trust You in all matters, big and small. In Jesus' name, Amen.
