Dominion Of Mankind

Published: May 5, 2024 · Reviewed: June 8, 2024

GENESIS 1:26-28 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

All life on earth has been entrusted to humans as their domain. That would comprise the demon and his agents attempting to function on earth. Therefore, we must prevent the demon from working here!

PSALM 8:4-6 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? 5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. 6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

Despite the fall of humanity, God's plans and commands remain unchanged.

ROMANS 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

Jesus came to restore us to the place of dominion that God intended for us to walk in and to rescue humanity from its fallen situation. Those who belong to Christ are now co-heirs with Him (Romans 8:17).

Right now, we don't have the power to control others. Jesus gave us a clear example of how to stay on earth and practice our dominion during His time on earth. But in the future, those who follow Jesus will govern over all peoples (Revelation 2:26).

SAY THIS: God, not the devil, granted me dominion.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for creating us in Your image and entrusting us with dominion over the earth. We acknowledge our responsibility to prevent evil from flourishing. We are grateful for the grace and righteousness bestowed upon us through Jesus Christ, restoring us to our intended dominion. Help us to follow His example, exercising our dominion with wisdom and love. We declare that our dominion is granted by You, not the devil. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
