We Are Siblings

Published: May 12, 2024 · Reviewed: June 29, 2024

JOHN 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Jesus implies there is something about a community of believers that will lead the world to trust in Him. This does not imply that we will always hold the same beliefs or that we must all belong to the same sect of churches.

No! God is a God of variety who creates uniqueness in each snowflake and each person. God does not demand that we all believe and act the same way. But God does demand that we follow His rules of love.

We must treat each other with respect and love and walk in love.

JOHN 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

Instead of us all thinking and behaving alike, our unity must be founded on our union with Christ and our obedience to Him as our Lord. Because each human is distinctive they constantly deal with situations differently.

Compliance cannot serve as the foundation for our union. Every sibling is different. We each have distinctive gifts, duties, and viewpoints.

We must all concur that anybody who confesses Jesus Christ as Lord is a fellow believer in Christ.

We must stop judging and blaming those who follow the Lord Jesus Christ. Whether they trust in any other beliefs or not doesn't matter.

They become a member of our family and join the group if they confess Jesus Christ as Lord. Instead of fighting our own family, let's battle the devil.

I do not encourage concessions, but rather advancement. We shouldn't behave like spoiled child who are two years old. We are the King's offspring!

REVELATION 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

Unfortunately, a lot of Christians have supported the evil to accuse our fellow Christians. But we must refuse the devil's tricky deal!

None of us have reached complete maturity and perfection in Christ yet, other Believers are expected to lose and make mistakes. Instead of knocking them when they fall down, we ought to give them hands to pick them up.

SAY THIS: I will treat my siblings with respect and leave correction to my Father if necessary.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we pray for unity in our diversity, as we are all unique parts of Your creation. Help us to love and respect each other, following Your rules of love. May we find unity in our shared faith in Jesus Christ, and cease to judge or blame our fellow believers. Grant us the strength to resist the devil's deceit, and the compassion to lift up our siblings when they stumble. Guide us towards maturity in Christ, and remind us that we are all Your children. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
