Know More About Devil's Authority

Published: May 15, 2024 · Reviewed: July 8, 2024

There is no doubt that the demon had liaise with Adam and Eve in the Eden's Garden. The Bible doesn't explain why God let this happen.

A possible hypothesis holds that God let humans to assess the devil after the latter complained that God was unjust and unfair in blaming him. Christians will judge angels, according to First Corinthians 6:3, the devil is a lost angel.

Due to Adam's rebellion, which caused him and all of his offsprings to experience spiritual death, the devil was able to demonstrate some degree of dominance over humanity.

There's no doubt that the devil held a lot of power in the global order at the moment of Christ's temptation, which is described in Luke 4.

LUKE 4:4-7 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

The devil was crushed and deposed of power by Jesus through His crucifixion and resurrection. (Colossians 2:15, Hebrews 2:14-15).

The devil obviously had no power left because Jesus declared that He had complete control after His resurrection (Matthew 28:18).

Nevertheless, the devil is still referred to as the god of this earth, or era, in the Epistles. (2 Corinthians 4:4).

While the devil is not the deity of the earth, it does imply that he is the god of the ungodly world order. He has this power because ungodly people have yielded to his words and actions.

The devil will largely function unchecked if the Church of Jesus Christ fails to use its God-given authority against him.

This is due to the fact that lost people are already under his control and find it difficult to stand against him. (John 8:44, 1 John 5:19).

Christ has given us the responsibility of using His power to uphold God's will on earth as a part of His family. (Matthew 16:19, Luke 10:19, Philippians 2:10).

We have to use that power.

SAY THIS:

As an integral part of the earthly Body of Christ, My Lord Jesus conquered the devil, took away his authority, and granted me control over all the power of the evil.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, We acknowledge the power You have given us through Christ. We recognize the authority we hold over the devil, who once deceived Adam and Eve. We thank You for the victory won through Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection, which stripped the devil of his power. We pray for strength to uphold Your will on earth, to resist the devil, and to use the authority You have given us wisely. We declare that as part of the Body of Christ, we have control over all the power of evil. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
