ACTS 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
Every time something seems to go wrong in their lives, some Christians are enticed to lose their belief in God.
Paul the Apostle endured many hardships, including beatings, stonings, and shipwrecks, yet he referred to them as "light afflictions."
2 CORINTHIANS 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
2 CORINTHIANS 4:8-9 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
We are engaged in a war for men's hearts and minds. We are up against the demon.
Even though we are confident in our victory, we shouldn't assume there won't ever be challenges or difficulties.
2 TIMOTHY 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
This would not be a smart way to live if this life were the only one available.
However, there is a living in heaven and a world to come. Living as though this life is the only one there is would be foolish.
Thus, we shouldn't ignore immortality and only pay attention to the present.
Regardless of how things appear to be moving at the moment, we must keep our faith in God.
We must be adamant not to allow the devil to shake our beliefs in God's Word.
SAY THIS: What I see doesn't affect me. Despite how I feel, I'm not affected. Only what I believe can move me, and I only believe in God's Word.
