1 THESSALONIANS 4:9 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
Understand that we are designed to require affection if you try to know why people behave in the way they do.
It is not simply a want; it is a need. People will go to any lengths to obtain affection if they don't get it yet.
People often act in stupid and destructive ways just because they want to be loved.
We want people to appreciate us and even find pleasure in us. We are motivated by our desire for acceptance and affection. We all want to stand out to someone.
Fear is the root of insecurity—fear that you are not decent enough and that if people knew the real you, they wouldn't love you.
But even though God is fully aware of who you are, He still values you highly enough to give His life in order to save you! Less important views are less significant when you KNOW that God loves you.
1 JOHN 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
People would completely turn to God if they only realized the truth about Him—that He truly loves them.
1 JOHN 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
SAY THIS:
Dear Lord, please help me to love others as You love.
