God's Ministry

Published: May 29, 2024 · Reviewed: August 18, 2024

EPHESIANS 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Service is what a ministry is. Serving is what ministers do.

How exactly does God "serve" us?

By assisting us, God serves us. So, assisting others is the main purpose of ministry.

Naturally, the best method to assist people is to teach them on God and His Word so they can benefit from everything He has given them.

However, everything that supports others—that makes their lives better or easier—is also a form of service.

God wants the perfect for everyone. God created people, and He desires to bless them.

EPHESIANS 5:1-2 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

We are to behave in a way that resembles our heavenly Parent. How? By walking in love, just like Christ did.

What exactly does "walking in love" mean in real life? H elping others. Walking in love implies helping others and prioritizing their needs.

You engage in God's ministry when you help others.

SAY THIS: By helping others, I am serving God.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word and Your guidance. Help us to perfect our faith, to serve others as You serve us, and to edify the body of Christ. Teach us to assist others, to share Your Word, and to make their lives better. May we walk in love, prioritizing the needs of others, just as Christ did. Let our service to others be a reflection of our love for You. Remind us that by helping others, we are serving You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
