PROVERBS 11:3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
Titus 1:2 states that God upholds His word, and that as His offspring, we are to follow Him (Ephesians 5:1). God is trustworthy, so His followers ought to be too. Christians ought to be recognized as honest persons.
PROVERBS 12:22 Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.
Our word should always be kept. We should prioritize our reputation over our emotions, wealth, and pleasure.
Shall we keep our word even if it means paying a price? Or will we just act in our own best interests? It truly comes down to deciding whether to walk in love or in self-interest.
However, there is yet another crucial reason to fulfill our word: in order for our faith to operate as it should.
MARK 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Jesus said that we must believe what we say in order for faith to be effective.
Your faith will be impacted if you break your word. You must trust what you say if you wish to walk in faith and thereby benefit from all the blessings God has planned for you. Lying is not working!
SAY THIS: I decide to tell the truth and uphold my promise with God's assistance.
