Prioritize God

Published: June 4, 2024 Β· Reviewed: September 6, 2024

MATTHEW 22:37-38 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment.

Loving God with all of one's being is the most significant command. As with all of His directions, God gives this not for His own profit but for yours.

Jesus says that even though it's significant, loving people comes in second. In reality, loving God will lead to you also loving people, because God loves people.

Prioritizing people and their needs causes you to prioritize wrongly, missing God's plan and making you less effective at helping people than you might have been had you prioritized Go.

MATTHEW 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Make up your mind to embrace and follow Jesus.

SAY THIS: God is my top priority. I'll prioritize serving God in my existence.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I pray that I may love You with all my heart, soul, and mind. Help me to prioritize You above all else, and in doing so, let me also love others as You love them. Guide me to seek first Your kingdom and righteousness, trusting that all else will follow. May I embrace and follow Jesus, making You my top priority. Let my life be a testament to Your love and grace. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
