Judge angels

1 CORINTHIANS 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

This passage strikes me as it states, "we shall judge angels", simply without any further elaboration. It doesn't specify why or which to judge when we judge angels. (Nor do I ever discover any answer anywhere in the Bible.)

Therefore, I've made some assumptions in this passage. I'm sharing it as it seems logic and sheds light on some challenging issues, like why there is so many devils in the world. However, for sure, I could be mistaken.

In the New Testament, the term "angels" refers to a representative or an agent sent by another. In the KJV, this word appears 186 times and is rendered as "angel" 179 times and "messenger" 7 times.

Both kind and bad "angels" exist. Here are two verses that make it abundantly obvious that the Bible mentions evil angels. (I believe these are the angels that betrayed against God with Lucifer.)

REVELATION 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

2 CORINTHIANS 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

Even though I assume it's possible that we would evaluate the good angels and reward them for everything they accomplished on behalf of us, that does not actually mean reasonable for me. It looks more logical to assume that the devil and the disobedient angels would be given a "jury trial," with us serving as the jurors.

This hypothetical situation helps me understand a number of things. One of the reasons God gave the demon access to Adam and Eve is so he might seduce them. If humanity serves as the juror, Lucifer (now known as the devil) must be given the opportunity to argue on his behalf and be given the same access to the jury.

Another reason is the length of time God has permitted this planet to be filled with suffering. If we serve as the jurors, it would be unfair for God to "tamper with the jury".

God can't just step in and make things different in the name of equity and justice for the evil angels on trial. The ability to make decisions and follow whomever we want has been granted to humanity.

At some point, humanity will realize how foolish it is to follow anybody other than the Lord Jesus Christ, and the rebellious angels will face judgement. When that happens, God will wipe away every tear, take away every anguish ever felt, and put everything back in its proper place. God will never be charged of misconduct because He will do that in the future and all things will work out as it should.

I therefore foresee what the jury -- i.e., humanity -- will choose.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, We are humbled by the responsibility You have bestowed upon us, to judge angels. Grant us wisdom and discernment to understand Your Word and its implications. Help us to stand firm in our faith, resisting the temptations of the devil. May we always choose to follow Jesus Christ, our Savior. We trust in Your divine plan, knowing that You will wipe away every tear and restore all things. We look forward to the day when justice will be served, and Your glory will be revealed. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
