What Does God Expect of Me?

Published: June 22, 2024 · Reviewed: August 1, 2024

HEBREWS 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

You might be putting a lot of pressure on yourself to be flawless so that God will be pleased.

It's possible that you've put in a lot of effort and are now so irritated that you're on the verge of giving up. You should probably stop attempting to be perfect on your own because we will not be perfect by our own efforts.

God is aware of your nature. He doesn't expect you to be perfect. The need for a Savior would not even exist if you were flawless.

You are loved and accepted by God because He created you. If you will put your faith in Him and let Him work in you, He is able to change you into the person He wants you to be.

SAY THIS:

Lord God, I believe You. Thank you for your love.

Instead of concerning about my behaviors, I will relax in your love.

Work in me to your will.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I acknowledge my imperfections and surrender them to You. I believe in Your existence and Your rewarding nature. I am weary, Lord, from striving for perfection on my own. I understand now that perfection is not what You seek, but faith. I am grateful for Your love and acceptance. I place my faith in You, trusting You to mold me according to Your will. Thank You for Your unfailing love. Amen.
