JOHN 8:31-32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
Jesus made a crystal-clear guarantee that following His Word would lead to freedom in the end.
Therefore, if you find that your level of freedom is not increasing, you should consider whether your knowledge of God's Word is precise. The meaning is the same whether the Greek term is translated as continue, abide, or remain. Adhere with the Word, don't start and stop; don't try it for a while; just dive in and live there.
"Pastor, what do you indicate by freedom?"
I'm not referring to a pass to misbehave. In contrary to what I'm trying to say, sin results in bondage.
I refer to freedom in all facets of existence. the absence of the need to transgress. Liberation from dread. L iberation from anxiety. Liberation from uncertainty. Liberation from conflict. Liberation from ambiguity. Liberation from the lack of household f issue. Liberation from suppression.
Remember that Jesus did not guarantee that all those who referred to Him as Lord would be liberated right away. Jesus, however, made it clear that it would take some time before those who faithfully followed Him would experience all the benefits of the liberation His Word would bring about in their lives.
If you keep going, if you obey, if you reside in, if you stay in....
Keep in mind the "IF". Don't neglect the "CONTINUE" as well. This Bible guarantee is NOT applicable to anyone who calls themselves a Christian. Only for those who are prepared to invest the time and energy necessary to absorb God's Truth.
Keep in mind that even a small quantity of toxin put to a delicious and nutritious meal can pose a risk.
SAY THIS:
Never giving up, I will continue to follow, abide in, and stick to the precise message of Jesus Christ, and it will set my life free.
