PROVERBS 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
You've probably heard the proverb "Input equals output" regarding computers. Alternatively the more popular phrase, "Rubbish in, rubbish out."
It holds true not just for computers but also for people.
Today, we are continuously inundated with information from all directions. Everybody seeks to persuade us to take some action, typically to purchase their goods or service.
The messages we are consuming into our minds and emotions is not inherently harmful, but it has a tendency to overshadow the things that are most significant in our lives.
PROVERBS 4:20-22 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
God's Word contains life rather than being only another message. It is not evidence that God's Word is not alive just because you are not awre of it.
Nuclear radiation is likewise invisible and imperceptible, but as we all know, it may quickly take your life.
The opposite is true. God's Word is alive.
HEBREWS 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
God is the source of all life. He has left us a foundation of life in His Word that we need to live and perform at our best.
SAY THIS: I'll guard my heart with every effort. I will nourish myself with the life-giving Word of God.
