1 PETER 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
Avoid moving around spiritually unclothed! Dress yourself in modesty!
You will be protected by humility, just as you are covered by clothing.
You run the risk of humiliation if you don't wear humility.
Describe humility. An attitude and way of thinking are humility. Keep in mind that you only know a portion of something.
True humility consists in purely seeing yourself as the Bible describes you, not in putting yourself down. "God's mercy has made me what I am." You were given everything by God. You can therefore DO NOTHING without Him!
1 CORINTHIANS 4:7 For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?
Pride leads to frustration because it concentrates on what I deserve. But humility sees the good in everything.
Without humility, you'll fall for a lie. You will believe the lie that God has treated you unfairly. You will therefore place the blame on God rather than realizing that you and other people's disobedience of God are the root of all your problems.
COLOSSIANS 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
SAY THIS: I will remember to dress myseld in humility.
