2 CORINTHIANS 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
The "real you" is not in your physical shape. You simply live in your body so that you can operate on earth.
You can and will depart your physical being at a certain point while continuing to live, just as a person can change the home where they reside.
We give our physique too much attention. The most crucial aspect of us is our interior self. Our physical beings are not immortal.
Just as it is not improper to take care of our homes or apartments, it is also not improper to take care of our bodies. Yet focusing only on our physical needs while ignoring our mental and spiritual needs is wrong.
1 TIMOTHY 4:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
It matters more how someone feels on the inner world than appearance.
Rather than paying attention to the actual person who resides inside that body, we judge people far too frequently based on the house (body) in which they reside.
SAY THIS: My body is just a transient home in which I reside.
