Assume You Were God

Published: July 19, 2024 · Reviewed: October 20, 2024

If you were God, you would be the only thing in the universe. Don't you think it would be nice to have some company?

So you make the decision to make some more beings. You choose how to establish the interactions and conversations because you intend to have smart ones.

Then some of the beings you have made choose not to follow your instructions. Instead, they betray and seek to rule the world.

In an instant, peace is gone. How do you behave?

You enact judgment on the rebels after realizing that you must control the situation and safeguard those who didn't revolt against you. They say you are unqualified to judge them and that you have no idea how it feels to be under your reign, accusing you of being unfair.

If you wish to keep peace and order going forward, you must respond to this accusation. So you decide to let the rebels' fate be decided by a "jury trial." However, who may serve on the jury? It cannot be those who are involved. There is only one solution: make some brand-new creatures, like humans, to act as the jury.

1 CORINTHIANS 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? How much more things that pertain to this life?

Insistence on equal jury access is made by the rebels. You vouch for it, leaving the jury absolute freedom in its decision. You will not obstruct them if they decide to join the rebels. The loyal humans won't judge the rebels until after they voluntarily decide to follow you and your approach while refusing the rebels and their approach. You are aware of the danger, but this is the only approach to put an end to the matter so that people won't keep questioning your intentions and judgment.

You then design a guy and a lady and place them in their ideal circumstances. Fair enough, you give the rebels access. Then it becomes bitter. The rebels deliver a fatal blow. Man rebels by violating the straightforward command you provided them so they would have the chance to do so. It appears that the rebels were correct all along—a fair jury would not have chosen your course of action.

Is it already over? Do you give it up and allow the rebels to rule the world and damage it with their greed, as you are aware they will do?

Or do you take a risk and do something unusual? How can you help? After all, the rebels have taken full control of the jury.

Stop making up stories and study the Bible with a bit more knowledge of what God might have experienced.

We have no idea whether what was described above is exactly how it happened. We are aware that God took a risk by becoming a person and dying in order to demonstrate His love for us and to rescue us.

By reading the New Testament book of Revelation, we also know how everything ends up.
