PROVERBS 22:4 By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life.
The antithesis of pride is humility.
Humility does not believe itself to be superior to others. "God's grace has made me what I am."
1 PETER 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
A humble individual is one who trusts in God's guidance rather than their own judgment.
Being modest does not equate to being a loser. One who understands reality—namely, that we are powerless without God—and who has the right fellowship with God is considered humble.
A person who is humble will be aware of their need for prayer.
Your level of pride will fall. God will elevate you if you act humble.
LUKE 14:11 For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
God cannot uplift the proud without doing them harm.
JAMES 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
1 PETER 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
SAY THIS: Lord, please teach me to guard against pride.
