Nobody Is Mature At Birth

EPHESIANS 4:13-15 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

God eventually wants you to mature into becoming alike Jesus Christ.

Yet nobody is mature at birth and completely grown, either physically or spiritually.

When we are reborn, we get all the rights and privileges that Jesus Christ bought for us by His death.

However, we must discover who we are, what belongs to us, and how to live it.

We must learn to use the empowerment God has provided us. (The New Testament is the primary source of knowledge for us.)

Just like a human infant is born with a brain and all the muscles it will ever have, when we are spiritually reborn, we are born with everything we will ever need.

However, no infant can produce literature or excel in sports.

Yet, we are aware that they are capable of reaching their full potential, all they need is time and adequate nourishment to develop and mature.

1 JOHN 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

We have everything in order because we were spiritually reborn.

To get us through, we are not necessary to grovel to God and ask for something else.

2 PETER 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

All things pertaining to life and godliness have already been entrusted to God's children.

Therefore, we must learn to live in the provisions God has already prepared for us.

2 PETER 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Religion is more than just getting baptized and entering heaven.

Having a new birth is only the first action.

God wants us to develop and mature.

1 PETER 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

SAY THIS: God has a design for me to develop spiritually. When I get mature, I'll become alike Jesus.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we pray for unity in faith and knowledge of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Guide us to maturity, not to be swayed by deceitful doctrines, but to speak truth in love. As we are reborn in Your image, help us discover our purpose and use the empowerment You've provided. May we overcome the world through faith, living in the provisions You've prepared for us. Help us grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. We yearn for spiritual growth, to become more like Jesus. In His holy name, we pray. Amen.
