You Are Exempt From The Law

ROMANS 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

The (Old Covenant) Law is not a requirement for you to be in compliance with God.

We are not related with the Law any longer in order to be in right standing with God, just as a women who loses her spouse is no longer in that marriage.

ROSE 7:1-2 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?

For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.

The law remains valid.

For instance, stealing and murdering remain immoral. And continuing to worship God is still proper.

However, we do not perform those actions to appease God any longer.

Instead, we carry them out because our union with Jesus Christ has made us righteous in God's eyes.

We now live moral lives because of His vitality within us.

To win God's favor, we do not live morally.

Instead, we received God's approval and love as a gift. (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 5:17).

We can easily carry out God's will because of our relationship with Christ Jesus and our brand-new heart. (Romans 5:5).

Because of the fresh life that He has given us, we behave differently.

GALATIANS 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

ROMANS 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

GALATIANS 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

ROMANS 6:14-15 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

COLOSSIANS 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

GALATIANS 2:19-20 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

SAY THIS:

Because I perished with Christ, I am no longer under the obligation to uphold the Law in order to be walking with God.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, We thank You for the gift of grace through Christ Jesus. We acknowledge that we are no longer bound by the law, but are justified by faith in Your Son. Help us to live not by the law, but by Your Spirit, bearing fruit unto You. May we remember that our lives are hidden with Christ in You, and that we live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved us and gave Himself for us. Guide us to walk in righteousness, not to win Your favor, but because of Your vitality within us. In Jesus' name, Amen.
