The Initial Temptation

Published: August 1, 2024 Β· Reviewed: August 31, 2024

GENESIS 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

The initial temptation, still employed by the devil to prevent people from receiving God's blessings nowadays, is to have doubts regarding the validity of God's Word and His willingness for our best interests.

The wrong teaching of the devil is that God is withholding from us something beneficial that would improve and enhance the quality of our life.

God, however, is not hiding anything positive from us. He provided us everything when He gave us Jesus.

It is now our duty to learn how to accept what He has given us and put it to good use for God's honor and the welfare of humanity.

In reality, God's approach works perfect for us.

I Actually, if you had access to all of God's knowledge, your will is the same as your own.

God should be trusted. God showed He is not self-centered at Crucifixion.

Jesus' pain and death in our place ought to reassure us that nothing is too difficult for God to accomplish for our good.

The demon lies and is a cheat (John 8:44).

Resist his attempts to keep you far from God and His benefits.

Don't let yourself be persuaded that making your own decisions will make you happier, wealthier, or more fortunate.

The only way to experience greater blessings is by adhering to God's guidance precisely. You may need to do this in order to walk in the fullness that God wants for you.

SAY THIS: I won't have any doubts about God's goodness or His love.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, We acknowledge Your wisdom and love, and we resist the devil's deceit. Strengthen our faith, Lord, so we may not doubt Your Word or Your intentions for us. Help us to accept the blessings You have given us through Jesus, and guide us to use them for Your glory and the betterment of humanity. Remind us that true happiness and prosperity come from following Your guidance. We trust in Your goodness and love, Lord. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
